Designer Short Sleeve Sweatshirts
Maybe it’s the sign of the times, but for the last year fashion runways have been displaying a lot of sweatshirt material. The economic downturn has hurt the fashion industry, and designers are all looking for a way to appeal to those trying to cut corners. Maybe this year is the year of the sweatshirt. And more is being done with the short sleeve sweatshirt than with any of the other styles.
One designer that is out in front of the pack with his day-to-night sweatshirts is Aiko. Although priced on the high side, Aiko’s designer short sleeve sweatshirts are probably half the price of what they would be in any other fabric. He also tends to favor the French terry sweatshirt fabric over the more traditional fleece-lined fabric. Another designer elevating the sweatshirt to haute couture is Alexander Wang.
Already we have the the dolman sleeve sweatshirt and the sleeveless tunic sweatshirt as proof that the designer sweatshirt is out of the closet and onto the streets at prices within everybody’s reach.
